The Christian Humanism of Russell Kirk

This course will examine the work and life (purpose) of Russell Amos Kirk (1918-1994) not just as the founder of post-war conservatism but also as a theological Christian Humanist, first and foremost concerned with personalism and the Incarnation. Kirk believed history should be seen as a whole, not divided into periods or dispensations. Just as the Incarnation bridged the flesh and the soul, so history bridged the past, present, and future, as well as time and eternity.
