Biography

Ross B. Emmett, Ph.D., is the author of Frank Knight & the Chicago School in American Economics (2009) and more than 100 articles, book chapters, book reviews, and encyclopedia entries on topics in the history of economics, ranging from Adam Smith and Robert Malthus to 20th-century American economics. He has also edited more than 10 volumes on various topics in the history of economic thought. He has a particular interest in economists’ work on the relation of economics and religion. His doctoral dissertation on Frank Knight received the Joseph Dorfman Best Dissertation Prize from the History of Economic Society.

Dr. Emmett holds an I.M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Manitoba. He held university positions at Trinity Western University, the University of Alberta, and Michigan State University before moving to Arizona State University in 2018.
